Basics
Seven things every small business website needs
Short answer: a clear first line, one obvious next step, speed on phones, real photos, prices, proof, and the basics Google needs. Plus one thing most owners forget: owning your own domain.
- A clear first line. Within seconds, a visitor should know what you do, where, and for whom. “Aircon servicing in Tampines, same week” beats “Welcome to our website”.
- One obvious next step. Call, WhatsApp, book or request a quote. Pick the one that matters most and put it everywhere.
- Fast on phones. Many of your visitors are on a phone, often on mobile data. Every extra second loses some of them.
- Real photos. Your work, your team, your premises. Stock photos make every business look the same.
- Prices, or at least a starting price. People who see a price know whether you're right for them before they call.
- Proof. Reviews, examples of past work and certifications. Only real ones.
- The basics Google needs: good page titles, a Google Business Profile and the same contact details everywhere.
The one most owners forget
Make sure your company owns your domain name, not the person who built the site. If they disappear, you want your address to stay with you. We register every domain in our client's own name.
